Tubes...

In February of this year, Natalie got an ear infection, yeah that was fun!! Well ever since then she has had fluid in her ears. I have had her to the pediatrician and the e.n.t numerous times since then. They both told me lets wait and see what happens, lots of times the fluid will clear up on its own. In the last 2 ent appts the fluid was pretty much gone, but still there. Well today was the deciding appointment at the ent. She still has just enough fluid to bother her, and if she gets colds or congestion, it will put pressure on her ears and make her misearble. But he said the fluid has been there long enough for us to talk about tubes. He left the decision up to us. So we decided to go ahead with the procedure and I think we are comfortable with that decision. She is constantly rubbing her ears, and waking up at night. So I KNOW this is the right decision, anything to take her pain away. We have enough to worry about with her diagnosis, esp. speech delay, we dont need fluid in her ears!! So the drs. office is suppose to call me and set up the appointment to have it done. I know Ill be nervous as hell that day, but if this is the worst to come, I think we will make it.
