Car Seat Safety....PLEASE Read...

Well lately ive been debating on wether or not to transfer natalie from her 5 point harness car seat to an adult belt booster and after doing some research, lets just say thats not going to happen for a very long time! After the things ive read and seen im just in awe...mouth wide open! I had no idea of the risks the adult belt boosters have. I couldnt not share this information, so my friends that have children PLEASE learn from these parents tragedies.

The videos are a MUST WATCH!

This first ones about a little boy named Kyle.

Video Info:
My son was killed in a car accident last year because a senile, 78 year old woman ran a red light and hit us causing us to flip into a ditch. Kyle's seatbelt came unlatched during the roll and he was ejected. His seatbelt was later examined by several experts who determined it was faulty and told me that seatbelts regularly fail, especially in roll over accidents. I had no idea that seatbelts could fail and think that this is something everyone should be made aware of. The government also needs to be more strict about making sure the people they issue licenses to are fit to drive...

PLEASE READ THIS AFTER YOU WATCH THE VIDEO...(copied from the you tube site)
It has recently come to my attention that there is another seat besides the Britax Regent (that I mention in the video) that will also hold a child in a 5-point harness up to 80 pounds. It is called the Radian80 made by Sunshine Kids and can be found here:
http://skjp.com/products/index.php?v=...

Also, 95% of all children's car seats are incorrectly used or installed. To find a location to get your carseat installation inspected, go to:
http://www.seatcheck.org/ OR http://www.safekids.org/certification and click on "Find a Technician" on the right.

**********NEWS************

We have begun a non-profit foundation recently in honor and memory of Kyle. (please view our new video on
YouTube.) You can find the webpage here -
http://www.kyledavidmiller.org
Our mission is to keep children in a 5pt safety harness up to 80lbs - we are accepting applications from families who cannot afford to purchase these car seats and are supplying those seats through the tax-free donations you can make through the site. We also have car seat safety information posted and will answer any question you have on car seat safety through the contact webpage. Please visit the site and help keep as many children safe as we can.

This next one is about a little girl named Isabelle.

About This Video (Copied From You Tube):
Our three year old daughter was killed in a car accident on 13 April 2006. A truck crossed over the centre lines and our vehicle hit a tree when trying to avoid a collision with the truck.
Our seven year old walked away from the crash, but Isabelle was fatally injured by the adult seatbelt used with her booster seat.
There were no warnings about the dangers involved in using adult belts with toddlers. The law in Australia allows children as young as 12 months to use only an adult belt. This is manslaughter through poor legislation. If Belle was wearing a 5 point harness she would never have sustained these injuries and she would now be a happy, healthy four year old. We have set up a website in Belle's honour at
http://isabelle-broadhead.memory-of.com and a discussion board athttp://www.isabelle-paige.com/phpbb2

You see why i couldnt not share this information. To me its just so shocking. I had always thought that if a child was in a car seat they were safe...sadly thats far from the truth and not enough parents realize it. Ive known friends and family that put their child in an adult belt booster before they were the appropriate age and size.  Hopefully they will see this and go back to the 5 pt harness. After seeing all this, Natalie will be in a 5 pt harness til she has completely outgrown them!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pass this information on....

OHH...One more thing...the 5 pt boosters that say they fit from 33 pounds to 100 pounds...well thats not exactly true. The 5pt only goes to 40 pounds then your suppose to use the adult belt. The 5pt isnt safe after 40lbs.
