I cant believe i have finally created a blog! Ive been wanting to do it for sometime now, but just never got around to do it! Theres alot of family in and out of state that i would love to keep up to date on our life...so i thought this would be perfect! Some times its just easier to keep in contact thru the computer...sad but true...i know our schedules dont always coincide with others to call or stop by...so at least this way we can keep everyone up to date on the happenings of our lives that i know they are all sooo curious about! Ok, lets face it, this is just another way for me to brag about my beautiful daughter!!!!
The title of my blog is called "You Are My Sunshine" and the meaning behind it is this...its a song of course, a good one at that, but its more than that to me. My brother Brad has always sung that to his kids (I was 14 when he started having kids!), and so i have always associated that song with the love of a parent and child. Well when i had my daughter (4 1/2 years ago...yikes!), i could honestly see why he sang that to his kids. I then would sing it as a lullaby to my daughter. I soon realized that i didnt have just one sunshine, i have 2...my husband being the other...i could be having the saddest, gloomiest day and just seeing their faces makes my dark clouds go away, and the sun begins to shine.
FYI...i have used yahoo messenger for years (message me if you want my screen name!), and i tend to do the ever famous computer lingo (3 letter words, shortening of words, combining words), so if it looks like i cant spell or am speaking bigganese (haa haa!), its just cause im use to the messenger world, im not really that illiterate! Ill try to keep it all in english, but sometimes bad habits are hard to break!
Now on to a real topic. I cant believe today is the 7th anniversary of 9/11. I remember perfectly where i was and what i was doing when i heard. I knew it was a bad situation, but didnt realize how bad it was until i got home that day and turned on the news. My heart broke into pieces for all the people that were involved in that tragedy. I think about it often, esp. when i look at the clock and it reads 9:11. As silly as it may sound, when i see that the clock says 9:11, i say a silent prayer and hope all the families that were involved in this are doing well. They say thru tragedy comes triumph, i hope this is true for all of them. Since i have been alive, this is the biggest piece of history that has truly affected me, that i remember what i was doing exactly when it happened. It kinda saddens me that this event will just be another page in my childs history book. That she will never know how every one in this nation came together after that day. That the words UNITED WE STAND were never more true than after that day. Those who would normally not stop to help, were running to help. It was just a good feeling to see everyone set aside all their differences and help those in need. To see everyones true colors come out, had let me see the sun shine thru all the hurt.
Well thanks for reading my first blog...i think im done for tonite. Check back often. =)
